Commonwealth Classic at Richmond rescheduled, ACT replaces Late Model Stocks

The ACT Late Models replace Late Model Stocks on the event lineup …

Richmond Times Dispatch

The Pro All Star Series and Richmond Raceway revealed on Friday the new date for the postponed PASS Commonwealth Classic.

Saturday night, March 30, 2019 for the $10,000-to-win and $700 to start Super Late Model race.

The PASS Super Late Models will compete in a 100-lap event on the famed 3/4-mile oval, along with a 75-lapper for the Tour-Type Modifieds. As previously announced, the MASS Street Stocks will race for 40 laps, while the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Models and 4-Cylinders have been added to complete the night of grassroots racing at one of the most historic tracks in NASCAR.

Late Model Stocks are no longer included due to the busy spring race schedule in the Carolinas and Virginias.

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour is racing at South Boston Speedway that same day.

Optional hauler parking and safety inspection will be held on Thursday, March 28 from Noon to 4 PM. A practice day for all divisions is scheduled for Friday, March 29 from 11 AM to 5 p.m. On Saturday, March 30, additional practice will start at 9 a.m, followed by qualifying at 1 p.m., and racing set to begin at 3 p.m., all ending under the lights at Richmond Raceway.

“While we were all very disappointed by the postponement in October, we have believed since that time that March 30th would be the perfect day to reschedule this highly anticipated event,” said PASS President Tom Mayberry. “Many have said that Richmond Raceway is the perfect short track for fans and racers…we agree and believe the Commonwealth Classic will be a bucket list event in the grassroots racing community for years to come.”

The ACT. Is that LMSC, SLM, or PLM?
