Johnny Sauter, Richie Wauters running full ASA STARS season

Add Johnny Sauter and Richie Wauters Motorsports to the list of teams running the full ASA STARS national championship campaign this season.

They are the latest combination, now at 14, to have signed the new Platinum Agreement in agreeing to contest the full season.

“We’re excited to be part of the Platinum Program and compete full-time in the ASA STARS National Tour,” said Richie Wauters, team owner. “This series is bringing back national-level excitement to super late model racing, and we’re looking forward to racing against the best teams and drivers in the country.”

Sauter is the 1999 ASA national champion and the STARS Tour is the spiritual successor to that championship.

The list of contenders is now 15 strong and the season begins Tuesday at New Smyrna Speedway.
