The new ASA national Super Late Model series has both a home on television and live streaming.
ASA-STARS, 10-race national championship comprised of races within the Southern Super Series, Champion Racing Association and Midwest Tour, will air live on RacingAmerica.tv, SPEEDSPORT.tv and on a tape-delayed basis on MAVTV. The series is expected to have all of the stars from all across in the country in Bubba Pollard, Stephen Nasse, Casey Johnson, Matthew Craig, Gabe Sommers and more.
The Racing America portion of the broadcasts will be behind the Pay-Per-View wall.
The tape delayed broadcasts are largely expected two Mondays after the live airing on the streaming platforms. For example, the ASA-STARS season opener will take place on March 11 at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola and will air on MAVTV on March 20 at 8 p.m.
The Southern Super Series and CRA will also continue to air live on Racing America, with two notable exception, this coming Tuesday when the SSS race will air on FloRacing as part of the World Series of Asphalt. The event on May 16 will air on Flo too with the event co-sanctioned by CARS Tour.
Midwest Tour airs on SPEEDSPORT.tv which is what made crafting a ASA-STARS broadcast agreement so challenging for Track Enterprises president Bob Sargent.
“Putting our broadcast schedule together this first year was quite challenging,” Sargent said in a press release. “We have existing relationships with the three streaming entities through the ASA / CRA Super Series, the ASA Midwest Tour; and the ASA Southern Super Series, plus a number of our host racetracks have independent relationships with one or more of the three. It’s been a challenge, but we are excited with the outcome.”
Consolidation will be a priority over the next year for Sargent with the ultimate goal of making the national races especially more easier to find and consume — important for an emerging brand.
To that point, having a traditional television element was important to Sargent, even with the two week delay. MAVTV was a fitting place for the content to land.
“The legacy of ASA is rich, and we at MAVTV could not be more excited to collaborate with Track Enterprises to bring the new STARS National Tour to our audience,” said CJ Olivares Interim President of MAVTV in a press release. “The condensed coverage of every race will be a major tent pole of our new primetime programming block ‘All-American Racing’, airing Monday nights between 8p and 11pm ET/PT.”
The Racing America component is important on multiple levels with its legacy dating back to Speed51 and the traditional leader in the pavement space over that time.
“Racing America is proud to partner with the new ASA STARS Tour and to bring coverage of this series to our fans across the country,” noted Colin Smith, President of Racing America. “We knew we wanted to be involved with Bob and the STARS team from the day the announcement of the new series was made and we are excited about helping shine a brighter light on these races. We will have a presence at each event and are looking forward to working with all the partners to help make year one a success.”

Will the Racing America broadcasts be PPV or just the regular subscription?
