Nick Loden further solidified his grip on the Carolina Pro Late Model Series this year by winning his third consecutive race at Orange County Speedway on Sunday afternoon.

Loden feels comfortable about where his team currently stands and believes they can run the table with the 2021 schedule as long as he stays efficient on track.

“This is my second win here,” Loden said. “I hope I can win all of the races this year but this was one of the most fun events I’ve been a part of this year.”

Loden spent most of the 2020 Carolina Pro Late Model Series season tailing Carson Kvapil, who won six races and the series title despite only competing in seven events.

Carson’s younger brother Caden has also challenged Loden on numerous occasions so far this year and managed to lead the first five laps before Loden overtook him and pulled away with the lead.

Caden attempted to chase Loden back down for the lead but ended up suffering significant damage in a crash on Lap 51, effectively handing the race to Loden.

The first three races of the season have helped Loden obtain more confidence with his driving style, particularly when it comes to managing his equipment while being at the front of the field.

“I’m pretty much not doing what I did last year,” Loden said. “I’m getting to the lead and controlling the pace rather than trying to save tires at the back of the pack. It’s a lot better to control how fast the field is going.”

Loden will look to keep his perfect season going on May 8 when the Carolina Pro Late Model Series heads to Florence Motor Speedway.
