NASCAR Truck Series driver Gio Ruggiero is joining Monahan Motorsports for the CARS Pro Late Model Tour race at North Wilkesboro.

Ruggiero cut his teeth in late model racing before going full-time in the NASCAR Truck Series. This start will be his first since 2024, which was also at North Wilkesboro.

“I’m looking forward to running a race in the CARS Tour again and being back in a Pro Late Model,” Ruggiero said. “It’s been a couple years, and I’m excited to get back into one, especially at North Wilkesboro. It would be an awesome track to win at. I’ve ran well there in the past and feel really good about heading back in the pro car and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck on Saturday.”

With the CARS Tour running on Friday before the NASCAR weekend kick-offs, several NASCAR drivers usually enter the CARS Tour races, leading to fields with the best of late model racing as well as NASCAR talent.

“Racing against some of the drivers in the truck field and getting extra laps the night before will be a great way to get ready for the truck on Saturday,” Ruggiero said.

The CARS Tour races at North Wilkesboro will be on Friday, July 17. Fans can purchase tickets online or catch all the action live on FloRacing.
