Dawson Sutton comes home to victory lane in Saturday’s CARS Tour PLM race at Nashville

Dawson Sutton capped a busy weekend across two of Tennessee’s most historic tracks with a victory in Saturday’s Inaugural CARS Tour Pro Late Model race at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway.

One night after finishing seventh in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway, Sutton returned home and delivered a dominating performance to earn his first CARS Tour win.

Sutton is no stranger to victory at the Fairgrounds, having won the All American 400 last November.

“Looking at this crowd, it’s everything I ever dreamed of,” Sutton said  “Coming home and racing here in the CARS Tour, it’s truly amazing. Ever since they marked this event I marked it on my calendar and it was definitely one of the ones I wanted to race. The All American was awesome and to win this it really just tops it off.

Starting from the outside pole, Sutton settled in behind early leader Evan McKnight before making the pass on Lap 30. From there, he maintained control over the remainder of the 100-lap event.

Keelan Harvick’s runner-up finish at Southern National qualified the No. 62 car for the “Flodium” bonus and Sutton’s victory secured the $10,000 prize for the Rackley WAR team.

Following Sutton all the way from Bristol to the checkered flag at Nashville, Kaden Honeycutt came home in the second spot, holding off a late charge from Brandon Lopez who finished third.
