Ryan Preece will once again be taking part in both the Xfinity Series and the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour races at New Hampshire on Saturday.

Preece had a phenomenal weekend last July at Loudon, winning the All-Star Shootout exhibition race on Friday, followed by two second-place efforts in the 100-lap Whelen Modified Tour race and the 200-lap Xfinity race.

It was all part of a magnificent summer in which Preece took five checkered-flags, including an emotional Xfinity win at Iowa, the first of Preece’s career.

2018 has been much of the same for the Berlin, CT native. Preece has two wins on the Tour and grabbed his second Xfinity win in the Dash4Cash race at Bristol back in April.

New Hampshire originally wasn’t on Preece’s Xfinity schedule for this season, but local sponsors stepped up to allow Preece another shot at a win at Loudon.

“A lot of the people that supported me last year to do those two races, they wanted to get involved and do it again,” Preece said at a Friday morning press conference. “So we put it together so we can come back and race here at New Hampshire… It was a really big deal last year.”

Currently, Preece has no plans to race in the Xfinity Series full-time in 2019, despite finishing in the top-10 in seven of his eight races with JGR. That isn’t dampening his spirits for 2018, however.

“Right, now there isn’t much talks about next year,” said Preece. “It’s just looking forward to the races that I have left and trying to capitalize on those. As long as I do my job, and I go out there and try to win these races… That’s really what’s gotten me here and kept me in this car.”

“I want one [a full-time Xfinity ride]. Of course I do, but I think what needs to be said is… Sponsors need to come to the team and say ‘we need Ryan Preece’ or something like that. I’m just going to keep doing my job, and that’s trying to win races, and hopefully the sponsors will come.”

Ryan Preece will try to notch his first points-paying win at the Magic Mile tomorrow in both the Whelen Modified Tour and the Xfinity Series.
