Danny Bohn wins his first race of the season in SMART Tour competition at Anderson Motor Speedway, continuing his strong start to his 2026 campaign.
Saturday marked the first time the New Jersey native competed at the 3/8-mile South Carolina track. He led the majority of the 99 lap event, fending off defending series champion Luke Baldwin in a late race restart to take the win in the second race of the season.
“This car is a blast to drive.” Bohn said in Victory Lane. “I always like to win a new track, I’ve never seen this place until I pulled in here this morning and to get the win here is pretty awesome.”
Bohn elected to restart on the top lane for the better part of the afternoon, fighting a tight handling condition.
“Track position is so key in these races. The car was probably a little snugger than I wanted to be, but that’s why I moved up a little bit and took the outside lane on restarts.”
Last weekend’s winner Brandon Ward started from pole position but quickly fell back as Bohn took control of the lead, with Jake Crum staying close behind in the early on.
Drivers brought their cars to pit road for adjustments around the halfway mark and on the ensuing restart, Crum briefly took control of the race before Bohn back to the lead.
A flurry of late race cautions cycled Baldwin towards the front, passing Crum for second and setting his sights on the leader. On the final restart he and Bohn raced into Turn 1 but had to lift and ultimately fending off a charge from Burt Myers to finish second.

One such caution occurred on Lap 78 when Joey Coulter, racing in the sixth position, spun around in Turn 4 and collected multiple cars including: John-Michael Shenette, Connor Hall, Sean McElearney, Jason Tutterow, Max Handley and John Smith. The incident triggered the second red flag of the race for cleanup.
After finishing in last place the week prior, Baldwin while disappointed, took a second place effort in stride.
“That heat cycle kind of killed us.” Baldwin said. “It’s unfortunate, a little disappointing but you can’t be too disappointed after coming back from last week and putting it on the podium. I’m just grateful for all the guys hard work over the week.”
Myers battled handling issues during the race and reflected on a third place finish on the afternoon.
“We’ve been working so hard on forward drive,” Myers said. “The car just wouldn’t rotate, and I had to sling it around. After the pit stop, I cooked the right rear, trying to make it turn. When you put everything into perspective, our performance lately hasn’t been great. So this is leaps and bounds for us.”
Crum finished in fourth place with Ryan Newman holding off Ward and Carter McMurray for the final spot in the Top 5.
