Barry Beggarly Jr started on pole for the next to last race of the season in the Limited Sportsman division at South Boston as Joey Throckmorton and David Latour Jr battle for the track points championship.

Throckmorton, started third while Latour started ninth in the 12 car field for the 50 lap race, rounding out the night of racing at the 4/10 mile oval. Beggerly Jr lost the lead to Daniel Moss as the field worked lap one and worked to hold off Throckmorton for second until Throckmorton turned Beggerly Jr while the field worked lap six, bringing out the first caution while Latour was stuck back in tenth.

Moss and Throckmorton separated themselves from the field as the race wore on, leaving only them to fight for the lead. On lap 27, Throckmorton finally worked his way around Moss, taking the lead and beginning to pull away quickly after.

Throckmorton, proceeded to lead the rest of the race, dominating the competition and all but locking up a track title with his tenth victory of the season. “It feels great to win ten races in a season, two or three in a year here is great but to win ten is amazing. It’s so tough, the race track and competition are so tough to win anytime here.”

Throckmorton dominated the last half of the race, pulling away. “I knew Moss was going to get loose, so I kinda just waited and then got around him and pulled away.”
