Ryan Repko Eyes Strong Run in CARS Tour Debut

Ryan Repko is hoping to make some noise in his Championship Auto Racing Series (CARS) Late Model Stock Tour debut at Hickory Motor Speedway on Saturday night.

Repko, 16, from Denver, North Carolina has a Limited Late Model victory to his credit, which came at Motor Mile Speedway last summer.  He has moved up to Late Model Stock Car competition this year and is anxious to see how he will stack up against the stiffest competition in Late Model Stock Car racing in the CARS Tour.

“It’s hard to say how I’ll run against them because I haven’t raced a lot of them,” Repko said.  “I’ve been looking forward to running one of these races for a while and the CARS Tour seems like the place to be.  It’d be awesome if we could run in the top-five all night.  So long as I learn something, that’s all I’m there for.  We can’t really go for points since I’ve missed two races.”

Repko has competed in a Limited Late Model at Hickory before and has planned to compete in a Late Model Stock Car race at the famed Newton, North Carolina track last weekend before the race was cancelled due to weather.  Between his experience at Hickory, and the runs he’s had in a Late Model Stock Car this year, Repko is optimistic and certainly feels he has a chance to score a victory in his first ever CARS Tour start.

“The series has produced a lot of first time winners so I wouldn’t say it’s impossible to win,” Repko remarked.  “I really hope so.  We’ve had some good runs up at Motor Mile so far.”

Repko’s ultimate goal is to make it up into NASCAR Sprint Cup racing.
