Kade Brown completes Hickory championship with finale victory

Kade Brown closed out on the Hickory Motor Speedway Late Model Stock championship by leading all 75 laps of the season finale at the Birthplace of the NASCAR Stars.

The No. 23 out of the Matt Piercy Racing stable started from the pole and led every lap of a largely procedural race that started nine cars. The only incident of note occurred on Lap 27 when Matt Gould suffered an engine failure.

The ensuing restart allowed Landon Shane Huffman to move Michael Bumgarner for second place and that would be the podium.

The win was the 12th of the season for Brown.

“It feels good but it feels even better to complete three in a row,” Brown said. “Every week, Matt Piercy Racing brings such a stout race car and there’s no question about that. We’ve had a really good year.”
