Josh Berry’s dominance in Late Model Stock Car racing continued Saturday night as he captured the pole for Sunday’s Old North State Nationals at Greenville-Pickens Speedway.

Berry ran a 19.681-second lap around the flat, half-mile track to pick up the pole in his first Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour start since June.  By qualifying on the pole, Berry locked himself into Sunday’s 200-lap feature race.

Mike Looney, Layne Riggs, Deac McCaskill, and Corey Heim rounded out the top-five in qualifying and were also locked in.

Mini Tyrrell picked up the win in the first heat race over Chad McCumbee, Jared Fryar, Bobby McCarty, and Connor Mosack.  Timothy Peters won the second heat over Taylor Satterfield, Trey Gibson, Peyton Sellers, and Justin Johnson.  Riley Gentry went on to claim the third heat over Nolan Pope, Jonathan Findley, Matt Cox, and Tyler Matthews.

Ross “Boo Boo” Dalton, a late entry, won the last chance race with Ronald Hill, Brandon Pierce, Jeremy Burns, Cameron Bolin and Ralph Carnes all locking themselves into Sunday’s race through the heat races.  The remaining cars were all later added to the field for Sunday’s race.

Sunday’s Old North State Nationals will go green at 3pm.
