What more could Kyle Busch want?
He’s already won a Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series championship in 2015, is the current championship leader and has amassed 192 NASCAR national touring victories.
Certainly, a Daytona 500 win wouldn’t hurt.
But, when it was posed which races Busch wanted to knock off his personal bucket list, he pointed to a short track star that is already doing exactly what he hopes to do someday.
“Bubba Pollard is kind of living my dream right now,” Busch said on Friday night outside of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway prior to Brickyard 400 weekend. “He’s the biggest name in Super Late Model racing right now. He’s traveling all across the country, running the biggest races and winning them. That’s something that I want to do.”
Pollard has went on a short track world tour over the past two seasons, picking up prestigious victories in the Slinger Nationals, Oxford 250, Money in the Bank 150 and the inaugural Canadian Short Track Nationals on Sunday at the Jukasa Motor Speedway in Cayuga, Ontario.
“I’ve never won Ocktoberfest,” Busch said in reference to the annual fall event at LaCrosse Speedway in Wisconsin. “That race in Canada was pretty cool. It was a Pro Late Model race. I’m not a fan of Pro Late Models. If it were a Super race, I’d want to go do that. But if it’s a track I haven’t been to yet, I want to go there and win.”
Pollard shares equal respect for Busch.
The two dueled in the 50th Snowball Derby last December, with Busch picking up his second Tom Dawson Memorial Trophy.
“That’s why he’s Kyle Busch right there,” Pollard said after the race. “We got beat by the best and we need to figure out how to get better so we can be the best.”
Even though Busch has the NASCAR hardware, Pollard has an enviable schedule and a couple of trophies that Rowdy wants to earn someday, too.

I definitely enjoy the article on bubba. We have been around him on our local track South Alabama Speedway where he usually does pretty good.
