North Carolina tracks honor Kyle Busch with scoreboard tributes

Multiple tracks illuminate scoreboards to honor motorsports legend

As the motorsports community continues to mourn the unexpected loss of two-time NASCAR champion Kyle Busch, a handful of North Carolina short tracks honored the racing icon by illuminating their scoreboards in his honor.

While most tracks across the Carolinas are not racing on Saturday night due to rainfalls soaking much of the drought-stricken state, three tracks took the time to pay their respects anyway – including the NASCAR-operated Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Bowman Gray and Hickory Motor Speedway both displayed an image of Busch on their LED videoboards.  Out toward the coast, Coastal Plains Raceway in Jacksonville also took part, lighting up their traditional scoreboard, putting the car number 8 across their scoreboard.

Hickory Motor Speedway raced on Thursday night, hosting the ASA S.T.A.R.S. National Tour.  Both Bowman Gray and Coastal Plains were washed out on Saturday.
