For the second consecutive year, FloSports and NASCAR are raising the stakes for the Late Model Stock Car racings biggest events in the Commonwealth. The Virginia Triple Crown presented by FloRacing returns in 2026, featuring another massive championship purse for the three race mini-series.
On the back of the 2025 purse increase, FloSports and NASCAR have announced they will once again be contributing $50,000 to the Virginia Triple Crown championship purse, again offering a whopping $20,000 payday to the eventual champion. The eventual runner up will earn $10,000 with third earning $7,500 and fourth receiving $5,000, all the status quo in comparison to 2025. Fifth in the standings is again receiving $2,500, while positions six through 10 earn $1,000.
NEWS: @NASCAR and @FloRacing are committed to another Virginia Triple Crown!
Prior to 2025, the eventual champion earned $7,500, so the increased payout remains one of the more prominent in the industry. The investment serves as a representation to both FloSports and NASCAR’s continued investment in grassroots short track racing, an investment FloRacing General Manager Michael Rigsby is proud of.
“We’re proud to continue our partnership with NASCAR and further grow the Virginia Triple Crown,” Rigsby said. “This event represents everything that makes Late Model racing special: elite competition, passionate fans and historic tracks. We’re looking forward to building on that foundation and bringing even more visibility to this incredible championship.”
The Virginia Triple Crown championship is determined by average finish in three crown jewel events at three different historic racetracks within the Virginia Commonwealth: The Thunder-Road Harley Davidson 200 at South Boston Speedway in June, the Hampton Heat 200 at Langley Speedway in July and the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 at Martinsville Speedway in September.
“The Virginia Triple Crown is Late Model Stock racing at its best: tough, gritty and intense” said Joey Dennewitz, Vice President, Industry Development, NASCAR. “With FloRacing’s continued support, we’re building even more momentum around one of short-track racing’s most exciting championships while delivering the kind of must-watch racing our fans love.”
FloRacing remains the presenting partner of the series as they also broadcast all three events, starting with the 20th running of the 200 lapper at South Boston on Saturday, June 27.
