NASCAR, Oxford Plains postpone Modified Tour to June due to rain

Due to a forecast that includes rain for most of the day on Saturday, NASCAR and Oxford Plains Speedway has postponed the Whelen Modified Tour race to Saturday, June 6.

NASCAR is working on a new event schedule for fans and competitors alike. This will be the first event for the Whelen Modified Tour at Oxford Plains since 1991.

Stephen Kopcik is the current championship leader following back-to-back victories at Martinsville Speedway and Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park.

Justin Bonsignore, a four-time champion and the most prolific driver of the current era, had withdrawn from this race and for the following race at Seekonk Raceway ‘so we can reinvest in our program’ so it’s a fair question to wonder if this postponement could actually bring the Kenneth Massa Motorsports No. 51 back into play.

They are 20 points out of the championship lead.
