Georgia Native Blaise Rutherford enters Cordele Speedfest with FatHead Racing

Georgia native Blaise Rutherford is set to take on the 20th running of Speedfest this Friday at Cordele Motor Speedway.

Rutherford will represent FatHead Racing in the JEGS/CRA Pro Late Model 100-lap event as he looks to build on his top-10 finish from last year.

Rutherford is eager to make his mark at what he considers his home track. Sponsored by Albany Auto Auction, the 26-year-old brings extensive experience at Cordele, pairing his knowledge of the track with the support of FatHeat Racing and Bubba Pollard serving as his driver coach.

“I feel like as a whole, with FHR and Bubba, there is always an expectation to win, and we have something to prove,” Rutherford shared. “I’m looking forward to working with Bubba and FHR because they’re hard-working people who go to the track with one thing in mind: to win!”

Pollard, a recent addition to FHR’s driver development program, spoke highly of Rutherford’s potential. “Blaise is a good young man and a good driver,” said Pollard. “He’s determined and has the drive to succeed. Cordele is a home track for him, and he’s got many laps around here. That, in addition to what we have going on here as a team I think is recipe for success this weekend.”

Owner Jamie Yelton emphasized the team’s focus on preparation and execution. “Our team’s goal is always to put drivers in the best position to succeed, and Blaise embodies the work ethic and determination we look for. We’re excited to see what he can do at Speedfest.”

The Speedfest 100 Pro Late Model event is one of the most anticipated races of the season, bringing in some of the pests in Late Model racing and fans. Rutherford looks to be the hometown hero for all the local fans at the track this Friday.

Scotte is from North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, living just a few minutes from the historic North Wilkesboro Speedway.
