With an absolutely dreadful forecast over the entire week, Southern Super Series has proactively made the decision to postpone the Accent Imaging 100 scheduled for Thursday night at Southern National Motorsports Park in Lucama, North Carolina.
It has already started raining this week across the state and the forecast is calling for rain everyday through Thursday night.
The race itself was scheduled back in March as a replacement for the rained-out Georgia Spring Nationals at Watermelon Capital Speedway.
“We were looking forward to our first ever trip to Southern National Motorsports Park” stated Series Director Tim Bryant. “Michael Diaz has wanted an event for some time and unfortunately Mother Nature is not wanting to cooperate. We look forward to making our first trip to SNMP as soon as we possibly can.
Dates are being considered for a makeup event. Further information will be released on that when the decision is made.
The $10,000 to win Shootout by The Sea scheduled for Saturday at Carteret County Speedway is still moving forward as planned at this time. The series and track are watching the forecast closely and will update any changes for that event as needed.
