Why Jett Noland is driving for Bubba Pollard

It’s the familiar No. 50 but with an equally familiar shade of blue and font

Bubba Pollard doesn’t know how much longer he will continue to race.

It could be quite a while longer or some time considerably less but a glimpse into that distant future will be provided over the weekend when he fields a Super Late Model for Jett Noland in the Twin 100s at Five Flags Speedway.

“You never know what my future looks like,” Pollard told Short Track Scene at Pensacola on Friday. “I’m getting older, I’ve got kids. We’re trying something different. There’s more data we can collect too. Having two cars is better for tomorrow night and better for the Derby.”

Noland has raced for several different teams at the Late Model level, including Anthony Campi Racing and Jett Motorsports, but wanted to get a different look with the Senoia, Georgia based race team. It is a multi-race agreement.

“This is a deal that was made for a few races,” said Noland. “(The Derby) is still up in the air. Bubba is a legendary driver. I can’t thank them enough for letting me drive one of their great race cars.”
