Winchester 400 moved to Saturday to avoid Sunday weather

The 55th running of the Winchester 400 Presented by Vore’s Welding & Steel has been moved from Sunday, Oct. 11, to Saturday evening, Oct. 10, due to the forecast for unfavorable weather conditions in the wake of Hurricane Isaias.

The Appalachian Sucker Punch ASA STARS National Tour event at Winchester Speedway will now take the green flag at 6:05 p.m. Saturday, with Hamke Racecars ASA Pole Qualifying scheduled for 4 p.m. A pre-race ceremony will follow qualifying.

Modified, Sportsman and Street Stock races will take place Saturday afternoon beginning at 2:15 p.m., giving fans an opportunity to see two rounds of racing in a single day.

Winchester Speedway and ASA STARS National Tour officials made the decision to move the event after determining that Saturday offered the best opportunity to complete the Winchester 400 before the arrival of the forecasted weather.

The Winchester 400 is regarded as one of the country’s crown-jewel stock car races and holds its place as the ninth race of the ASA STARS season. The 2026 edition will also make history as the first running of the event under Winchester Speedway’s new Mercer County Electric LED lights, creating the first night race in the event’s history.

Ticket prices have been adjusted for the revised Saturday schedule. General admission adult tickets are $30, while single-day Saturday pit passes are $50.
