ASA STARS entry list and schedule for Pensacola this weekend

Following a wild season opener last month during Florida Speedweeks at New Smyrna Speedway, the ASA STARS national Super Late Model tour continues on Sunday afternoon at Five Flags Speedway upstate in Pensacola.

There are 28 drivers on the entry list for a $15,000-to-win race that also serves as round three of the Southern Super Series regional tour and the four race Blizzard Series that builds all season to the Snowball Derby.

The entry list includes all 15 pre-registered Platinum Program championship contenders. All told, ASA says the list includes nine track championships with Bubba Pollard holding five of them. Jake Garcia is a former track Pro Late Model champion and will make the trek up from Homestead-Miami Speedway alongside Dawson Sutton whom both will compete in the Truck Series on Friday night before flying north.

Carson Brown of Anthony Campi Racing won the Pro Late Model championship at the track last year and is a Platinum driver on the entry list as well. Jake Finch has an Outlaw Stock championship at the track and is fresh of winning the Pro Late Model Baby Rattler 125 on Friday at South Alabama Speedway.

Snowball Derby winners in the field include Kaden Honeycutt, also making the trek north, and Derek Thorn.

Super Late Model mainstays Stephen Nasse, Kyle Steckly, Cole Butcher and 2016 Truck Series champion Johnny Sauter are also set to race. Dustin Smith will depart his family owned No. 33 to race for Augie Grill in the GARC No. 112 house car. The race is schedule for 2 p.m. CT on Sunday afternoon and it airs live on TrackTV.com.
