CARS Tour Southwest returns to Tucson Speedway to begin 2027 season

The 2027 SPEARS CARS Tour Southwest season kicks off at Tucson Speedway on Saturday, Jan. 16, with the Pro Late Models returning to Southern Arizona and the Limited Late Models set to join the action as part of the 14th annual Chilly Willy weekend, one of the biggest short track racing weekends of the new year.

SoundGear will return as title sponsor of the event for a second consecutive year, with the SPEARS CARS Tour Southwest Pro Late Models and Limited Late Models taking center stage in the SoundGear 225.

The return comes one year after a memorable debut for the SPEARS CARS Tour Southwest Pro Late Models at Tucson Speedway. Kevin Harvick scored the victory in the 2026 SoundGear 125 following a late-race battle with his son, Keelan Harvick, who finished runner-up in the season-opening event.

The addition of the SPEARS CARS Tour Southwest Limited Late Models will bring a second series division to Tucson in 2027, expanding the CARS Tour Southwest presence during Chilly Willy weekend.

SoundGear has served as the Official Restart Partner of the SPEARS CARS Tour Southwest throughout the 2026 season, with the SoundGear Restart Zone featured at each event. Their support has been an important part of the growth and success of the series, and the SoundGear 225 will build on that strong relationship during the 14th annual Chilly Willy weekend at Tucson Speedway.

SPEARS CARS Tour Southwest is also excited to continue its relationship with Tucson Speedway General Manager Shelly McGriff and her entire team. McGriff and her team welcomed the series and its competitors to Southern Arizona with open arms for its first visit in 2026 and helped make the inaugural event a success. The series looks forward to returning in January and continuing to build its relationship with McGriff and Tucson Speedway in 2027.
