Prior to this week, Jimmy Blewett had already announced plans to compete on the Whelen Modified Tour part-time in 2018.
On Tuesday, he added even more races to his schedule.
As first reported by Race Chaser Online, Blewett will drive three events for former championship car owner Eddie Harvey. The two will team-up to compete in the NAPA Spring Sizzler at Stafford in April, the Thompson 125 in June, and the Langley Speedway event in Virginia on June 23.
“I’m excited about the opportunity. There’s no pressure in this situation, not with the friendship he (Harvey) and I have,” Blewett said. “I feel really blessed to be in this position and I’m looking forward to going out and hopefully contending for some wins for him in our races together.”
Blewett is also scheduled to run two races for Ed Partridge’s No. 6 modified when Ryan Preece competes in the NASCAR XFINITY Series, and at least select events with his own family ride.
Over 15 years of racing, Blewett has 123 career Whelen Modified Tour starts, including six victories. His most recent win came at Stafford in August of 2016.
He will kick-off the season at Myrtle Beach Speedway on March 17 driving for Partridge.
