Some of the biggest names in Modified racing will take to the challenging Florence Motor Speedway on Saturday in the opening round of the 2026 SMART Modified Tour season.

The preliminary entry list for the Zach Brewer Memorial features a lot of familiar faces, including Ryan Newman, Burt Myers, the Baldwin brothers, Brandon Ward, Jonathan Cash, and many more. A handful of new faces will also compete, including Hermie Sadler, and rookies Max Handley and William Lambros.

Lambros competed in North Wilkesboro last season, finishing fifth, while Handley has a top-10 finish to his credit which came at Coastal Plains Raceway last August. Last year’s SMART Modified Tour opener at Florence saw three rookies finish inside the top-five.

Another name that will stand out on the entry list is Steve Zacharias, the owner of Florence Motor Speedway. Zacharias has competed in Modified racing off and on over the years and wants to run this weekend’s race to honor his old friend, Zach Brewer.

The Carolina Crate Modified Series, as it often does, will be joining the SMART Modified Tour this weekend with 13 drivers in action, including Dale Ogburn, Brian Weber, Annabeth Barnes-Crum, Dean Lambrose, Brody Measmer, Brooklyn Newman, Ryan Lowder, and Zack Clifton, among others.

The Zach Brewer Memorial will commence at 3:00pm and can be seen live on FloRacing. It will be the first feature race of the afternoon.
