The 2021 Late Model Stock Car season at Caraway Speedway began on Sunday afternoon with Dylan Ward taking home the checkered flag over Coy Beard and Clint King.

“I was really glad to get the monkey off my back with this car,” Ward said. “We’ve had a lot of bad runs with it even though we’ve been really fast. This car has been raced plenty of times and we finally got it running good. It was on rails today.”

Jason York started on pole for the 60-lap LMSC feature, but a mechanical issue allowed Ward to run him down and make the race-winning pass with 41 laps to go. Beard attempted to chase down Ward for the win but did not have enough time at his disposal.

Now with a victory under his belt, Ward will turn his attention towards a busy 2021 season that will include a handful of starts in the Modifieds at Bowman-Gray Stadium and some CARS Late Model Stock Car Tour appearances with the car he parked in victory lane on Sunday.

Late Model results:
