Coming into the final weekend of racing at South Boston, Matt Bowling has a 50 point lead over Peyton Sellers in the race for the South Boston track points championship and a 17 point lead over Ty Majeski for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series national title.

Majeski, will be racing at Elko Speedway in Elko, Minnesota while Bowling will start on pole for the first of two 75-lap LMSC races at South Boston, followed by Ryan Repko, Austin Thaxton, C.E Falk and Lee Pulliam. Quite the top five for the final race before South Boston gets a re-pave in the offseason.

Matt Bowling jumped out to an early lead, followed by Austin Thaxton, C.E Falk and Danny Willis Jr. Lapped traffic held Bowling up , allowing thaxton to close in around lap 15 but Thaxton couldn’t get around Bowling as the field roared on.

Austin had a perfect chance to get around Bowling as the field worked lap 32, Bowling was held up by lapped traffic but Thaxton couldn’t make the move stick. The field was bunched back up at half way, after a wreck involving Nathan Crews and Brandon Pierce.

Lee Pulliam came charging through the field after starting in the rear due to being two pounds underduring pre race tech but took the lead from Bowling on lap 58 and pulled away to the win.

“It’s awesome to get a win in a field as strong as this, anytime you can come from the back and win. I can’t thank my guys enough. We could have given up after being put in the rear but we didn’t. We put some lead in the car, it was hooked up, it was on rails the whole time. I’m just really happy to pull this off for this team.”
