Johnson Honors Stallings in Throwback 276

A R&S Client will pay tribute to Steve Stallings in the retro race.

Justin Johnson is reaching back into the legacy of R&S Race Cars for the Throwback 276 on July 31 at Hickory Motor Speedway.

The 34-year-old Late Model Stock veteran will compete in a wrap that pays homage to company co-founder Steve Stallings — specifically to the colors flown on a regular basis at South Boston Speedway and Orange County Speedway during the 2000 and 2001 seasons.

Current team sponsor GXS Wraps will provide the design and wrap of the No. 44 as it is transformed into the No. 8 for the retro event.

Stallings, along with Marcus Richmond, is the co-founder and co-owner of R&S Racecars that builds complete cars and chassis for Late Model Stock Car competitors around the region.

Johnson sits third in the standings with two victories this season and is third in the championship behind points leader Bobby McCarty and one behind teammate Kaden Honeycutt.

R&S Race Cars was founded before the 2020 season with Stallings and Marcus Richmond.
