A recent change in the weather forecast for Saturday’s Icebreaker at Florence Motor Speedway has prompted the track to push the start time up to 12:30pm for the first Late Model Stock Car race of the 2021 season.

The Icebreaker, which has kicked off the season for Late Model Stock Car racing since its inception at Myrtle Beach Speedway in 2016, was originally scheduled to start at 3pm.  The 125-lap NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series Late Model Stock feature will be the first race to go green.

“With the ever changing weather forecast we have decided to move as much forward as we possibly can,” the track said in a Facebook post.  “So please see our updated schedule for this Saturday’s IceBreaker. We will also be extending Friday’s practice as far as we can to make sure all competitors that couldn’t make Thursday practice get plenty of track time.”
