Entry List for the Inaugural South Carolina 400 at Florence Motor Speedway

The inaugural South Carolina 400 is on Saturday afternoon at the venerable .4-mile short track located in Timmonsville, South Carolina. It is essentially the replacement event for the Myrtle Beach 400, which was discontinued after the sale and partial demolition of that facility earlier this year.

The promoters of that venue purchased Florence Motor Speedway over the summer and intend to start a new tradition this weekend. Based on the initial entry list, drivers and teams have responded accordingly.

Ty Majeski and Matthew Craig are set to make their Late Model Stock debuts this weekend in entries owned by Chad Bryant and R&S Race Cars respectively. Four-time NASCAR Advanced Auto Parts Weekly Series champion Lee Pulliam will also race as usual driver Corey Heim withdrew to other obligations.

Reigning NASCAR national champion Josh Berry has also entered the race.

Nolan Pope, Brenden Queen, Justin Johnson, Austin McDaniel and Mark Wertz are all entered after winning Late Model Stock features across the region this season.

The 250 lap main event pays $10,000 to the winner, $3,500 to second and $2,000 to complete the podium. It pays $675 to start. Racing is scheduled to begin at 4 ET. It will air on

Charlie Powell was the king at Summerville Speedway when he drove the number 22 ‘68 Chevelle in the early to mid 1970 ‘s. I have many great memories of that track and time period.
