Dale Earnhardt Jr confirms next Late Model Stock start

Florence Motor Speedway has become something on a home track for Dale Earnhardt Jr. over the past three seasons and that trend will continue with his second consecutive start in the South Carolina 400 on November 18.

This will be the fourth time Earnhardt has raced his No. 3 Late Model Stock at the South Carolina bullring since this race last year. He finished ninth in the South Carolina 400 last year with starts in both the February Icebreaker and the Locked-In 150 in August.

The truth is that Earnhardt has always treated Florence as a home track, as it and the now defunct Myrtle Beach Speedway were the tracks he raced the most at during the mid-1990s before his ascent to the NASCAR national touring levels.

Earnhardt also unveiled the Bass Pro Shops paint scheme he will run while also announcing that both he and CARS Tour champion Carson Kvapil have entered the event.

Matt Weaver is the owner and founder of Short Track Scene. Weaver grew up in the sport, having raced himself before becoming a reporter in college at the University of South Alabama. He also has extensive experience covering NASCAR, IndyCar and Dirt Sprint Cars.
