Chase Elliott will race a Late Model Stock Car for JR Motorsports in the CARS Tour race at North Wilkesboro Speedway on July 17.
Elliott, who is an advocate for short track racing and an occasional competitor in ASA STARS Super Late Model competition, hasn’t turned a lap in a perimeter rail Late Model since he was a teenager.
It’s something that Earnhardt has wanted to happen for a while and the two even once teased doing a car swap with Elliott wanting Earnhardt to race in a straight rail race at some point before he retires from driving altogether.
