CARS Tour issues penalties after Throwback Classic

Representatives of Matt Piercy Racing have been issued fines stemming from the big crash in the CARS Tour Throwback Classic at Hickory Motor Speedway on Sunday night.

These are infractions regarding ‘actions detrimental’ under Section 6.7.1 of the CARS Tour Rule Book:

  • Talon Pelfrey will receive a one-race suspension for leaving the assigned pit area and entering a competitor’s car with the intent of harming the driver and/or damaging the car’s electrical system. The suspension will be effective for the next Event at Anderson Motor Speedway on August 16, 2025. Additionally, Pelfrey will be fined $500. The fine must be paid before returning to the series.
  • Matt Piercy will be fined $500 for leaving the assigned pit area to confront another competitor. The fine must be paid before returning to the series.
  • Wade Cannon will receive a three-race suspension for shoving a CARS Tour official. The suspension will be affective for the events at Anderson Motor Speedway on August 16, 2025 and Florence Motor Speedway on August 29, 2025 and South Boston Speedway on September 13, 2025. Additionally, Cannon will be fined $1000. The fine must be paid before returning to the series.

Talon Pelfrey, Matt Piercy and Wade Cannon will be probation until December 31, 2025.
