Ace Speedway gets NASCAR sanctioning for 2025

Ace Speedway

Ace Speedway is once again a NASCAR Advance Auto Weekly Series sanctioned race track for 2025.

The 69th season at the 4/10th mile oval will see four NASCAR sanction divisions at the track, those being Late Models, Limited Late Models, Modifieds and Mini Stocks, with INEX sanctioning the Legends Division, Xtremes, Champ Karts and 602 Super Chargers will also have several events during 2025, with the Virginia Vintage cars appearing once in September.

The NASCAR sanctioning is expected to bring more attention to Ace Speedway for 2025 and bring in more drivers, advertising partners and spectators. For NASCAR, it gains back a Late Model Stock Division I track after losing Florence and Southern National, who created a joint series between, the I-95 Showdown under an in-house sanctioning body, the Ultra Racing Association.

It is also big for Alamance County and the local economy. This will give local competitors a chance to compete for the NASCAR National Championship, which was last won by Ace Speedway legend Barry Beggarly in 1993.

Owners Robert and Jason Turner, who have owned the facility since 2017, and recently hired General Manager David Sell, have their eyes set on making Ace the best it has been in years.

“With track improvements planned in 2026, we are looking to build the car count, fan count and partner count in 2025, and with NASCAR and INEX sanctioning, we feel this is the best step forward,” said David Sell.

There will be 14 scheduled weeks of racing, culminating with the 200-lap Big Ace Race for Late Models on November 1st and 100-lap 602 Modified race on November 22nd.
