UARA Pro Late entrants set for first race at The Rim

Daniel Vining

The United Auto Racing Alliance (UARA) Pro Late Model Series heads to Veteran’s Motorplex at the Rim this Saturday, Oct. 10, for the rescheduled Off Broadway 125, bringing a condensed championship narrative into sharp focus.

Weather disruptions and a mid-season fallout with Auburndale Speedway have drastically shortened the UARA campaign, leaving just two of the original ten scheduled events completed entering the weekend. Because the series uses earnings to determine its championship standings, March’s Baby Rattler 125 winner Jake Finch currently sits atop the official UARA points table.

With the national series schedule heavily disrupted, the real battle on Saturday centers around the local track favorites at “The Rim,” where established venue regulars will look to leverage home-track advantage against traveling stars for the $5,000 winner’s purse.

Leading the local contingent is current Veteran’s Motorplex Pro Late Model points leader Wayne White (No. 25). White has paced the division throughout the season at the quarter-mile oval and headlines a group of track regulars that includes top contenders Walton Garrison (No. 99), Mark Day (No. 8), and Tim Gay (No. 1).

Joining the field to challenge the track regulars is Dylan Fetcho (No. 89), making his first start at Veteran’s Motorplex in nearly a decade. Fetcho comes off an impressive performance at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, where he took the pole position and finished third in his CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car debut behind runner-up Parker Eatmon and race winner Caden Kvapil, who subsequently wrapped up the CARS Tour LMSC title at Newport Speedway.

The entry list also features Stirlin Marlin (No. 40), a fourth-generation racer whose family history is deeply tied to Middle Tennessee motorsports. Marlin is the grandson of two-time Daytona 500 winner Sterling Marlin and the great-grandson of four-time Nashville Fairgrounds champion Coo Coo Marlin.

Originally scheduled for early July, the Off Broadway 125 was postponed due to persistent rainfall. UARA officials stated they are actively monitoring forecasts for Saturday and intend to run the event as planned. Should weather interfere again, Oct. 24 has been set aside as the rain date.
