Weather permitting, ASA Speedfest at Cordele Motor Speedway is scheduled for this weekend in the Watermelon Capital of the World with marquee events for both the Super Late Model and Pro Late Model divisions.
The races are non-points sanctioned by the ASA Southern Super Series and Southern Pro Series.
There are 24 cars entered for the Super Late Model portion and 18 for the Pro Late Models, however, the Super portion has also lost two already in the form of Hunter Wright and Dylan Fetcho, whom have withdrawn due to the massive winter storm approaching the Southeast this weekend. The Pro Late Model race has already lost Luke Yarbrough as the FR8 Racing team has withdrawn.

Specifically, a storm that will begin Friday in the Tennessee Valley and Saturday along the Coastal Eastern states are calling for several inches of snow and/or ice depending on where the crossover line ends up by the weekend.
This is driven by a gulf coast low pressure system.

For its part, Track Enterprises and ASA Southern Super Series officials say they continue to monitor the weather.
“SpeedFest officials are also continuing to closely monitor Saturday’s weather forecast, which has shown variability in recent updates. Officials are in regular communication with weather services and will continue to evaluate conditions as they evolve.
“At this time, no schedule changes have been made. Officials will keep teams, fans, and media informed and will provide updates over the next 18 hours should any adjustments become necessary. Any official announcements will be communicated promptly through Cordele Motor Speedway and SpeedFest channels.”
