With the 2021 ValleyStar Credit Union 300 at Martinsville Speedway now officially in the record books, the CARS Late Model Stock Car Tour title contenders are turning their attention towards the Aaron’s 125 at Florence Motor Speedway on Saturday.
There are currently 20 cars entered for the series’ second trip to Florence, which was a late addition to the CARS Tour schedule last year after several events were cancelled or postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Florence’s first CARS Tour race was a memorable one that concluded with Nolan Pope chasing down Timothy Peters in the closing laps to win his first and only race so far in the series.
Neither Pope nor Peters are set to compete at Florence on Saturday but there will be plenty of familiar faces looking to begin the final three-race stretch for the CARS Tour with a victory.
Two-time CARS Tour champion Bobby McCarty enters Saturday as a heavy favorite with two wins and five Top 5s in 2021. He currently holds a ten-point advantage over rookie Kaden Honeycutt, who has one CARS Tour victory to his name back at Langley Speedway in June.
Honeycutt’s teammate and car owner Justin Johnson also has a realistic shot at his first career CARS Tour title along with defending champion Jared Fryar, who has the most Top 5s of any other driver in the series with seven despite having yet to win a race in 2021.
Saturday’s Aaron’s 125 will also have representation from the CARS Super Late Model Tour. Championship contender Carson Kvapil returns to the Late Model Stock division in what will be his first race with JR Motorsports.
As with every CARS Tour race, the Aaron’s 125 can be viewed live on carstour.tv, with the green flag for the 125-lap Late Model Stock feature set to fly after the Mini Stock race at 7 p.m.. The complete entry list can be found below.
