Anything with wheels very well could be the motto for Logan Seavey over the next 10 days.
The reigning USAC National Midget Series champion will race his Keith Kunz Midget at Bubba Raceway Park in addition to a Super Late Model, starting on Monday, in the World Series of Asphalt at New Smyrna Speedway.
The latter comes at the direction of Toyota and will be fielded by Wimmer Motorsports. The idea is to get Seavey more pavement experience as he transitions towards NASCAR in the coming months.
“I’m really excited for the World Series,” Seavey said. “I think it will be great for me to do so many races in a row. I’m excited to work with Wimmer Motorsports because of how much success they have had in the past. It gives me a lot of confidence in my equipment and that is very important for a driver.”

Wimmer Motorsports has most recently fielded cars for Harrison Burton’s successful Super Late Model tenure, which included a World Series championship back in 2017. Overall, Wimmer helped Burton to seven New Smyrna wins, 14 top-five finishes and the championship combined.
“The opportunity to partner with a program like TRD is really exciting,” said Wimmer Motorsports team operator and crew chief Chris Wimmer. “It definitely speaks to the success we’ve had in the past and is a huge building block for us in the future. Logan has a strong reputation in the dirt world and we are looking forward to working with him on his asphalt career.”
And like most Toyota endeavours, Seavey’s progress will be monitored under the watchful eye of TRD’s commercial director, Jack Irving.
“The capability to partner with a top-notch team like Wimmer Motorsports for Speedweeks is a great opportunity for the TRD driver development program,” Irving said. “We’re certainly pleased with the progress that’s been made by USAC champion Logan Seavey on dirt. Putting him behind the wheel of a Wimmer Motorsports Camry for Speedweeks will allow him to continue learning on pavement to hone his skills.”
Seavey has just two pavement Late Model starts. He has two ARCA dirt starts, winning at DuQuoin and a Truck Series start at Eldora.
“We’ve been really solid down at New Smyrna over the past few years and I don’t expect that to change,” Wimmer said. “Obviously, Logan has less asphalt experience, but with his abilities I’m confident it won’t take him long for him to find his groove. We’re going to give him the best car we can and then good things should happen.”
