Consider it a tune-up for the most anticipated pavement Super Late Model season to come.
The provisional entry list for Speedfest at Watermelon Capital Speedway on Jan. 27-28 contains 21 car and driver combinations for the event now co-sanctioned by the Southern Super Series and Champion Racing Association — members of the new ASA-STATS coalition.
The list is highlighted by defending winner and native Georgian Bubba Pollard who is seeking to add victories to the ones he picked up in 2016 and 2022. Corey Heim won the event in 2020 and will be racing in advance of his initial foray as a full-timer in the Craftsman Truck Series with Tricon Garage.
Other national Super Late Model notables on the entry list includes Stephen Nasse, Matthew Craig and Casey Roderick. Super Late Model graduates and Truck Series contenders Carson Hocevar and Jake Garcia are also making their way to Georgia as a detour on the way to Daytona in February.
The event also features a Pro Late Models on the undercard alongside INEX Legends, Outlaw Late Models, and Bandoleros. Friday, January 27th features rotating practice sessions and qualifying.
Racing Saturday begins at 1:00 p.m. local time with the event airing live on RACING AMERICA.
