It’s Speedfest 200 race day at Watermelon Capital Speedway and we’ve got the actual event start time, the starting lineup and some other facts about the Champion Racing Association pre-season exhibition showdown.
What time does the race start today?
Speedfest should start at 2:30 ET depending on the results of the local Legend and Bandolero sprint races. The 100 lap JEGS Tour Pro Late Model race will follow just before the 200 lap CRA Super Series Super Late Model main event.
Race name/distance: Today’s race is Speedfest 200, which is scheduled for 200 laps to open the 2017 mid-major Super Late Model season for many teams in the Midwest and Deep South.
Live streaming: For the third straight season, Speedfest will be streamed over the internet via Speed51.com’s 51TV online streaming service. The single-day Speedfest 200 broadcast can be accessed here for $24.99.

Tickets: Watermelon Capital Speedway has not announced a complete sellout. If you are in the area and have decided to come out, plan to park in the parking lot in front of the track. It’s a short little walk. An adult general admission ticket is $25 while a kid ticket is $15.
Weather: It’s going to be cold and partly cloudy. The forecast calls for a high of 58 with temperatures reaching freezing peaks should the race go late into the evening.
Last year: John Hunter Nemechek took the white flag with Bubba Pollard and William Byron in tow. Nemechek stacked them up from behind, Byron tagged Pollard who resultantly spun Nemechek.

The CRA penalized Byron to the rear of the lead lap for his role and Pollard just beat Harrison Burton to the line to win the race on a green-white-checkered finish.
