Dustin Smith seeking good World Crown run

Daniel Vining

Dustin Smith has thrown his hat into the ring for the World Crown 300 at Cordele Motor Speedway.

The Alabama driver is excited to chase a crown jewel in Cordele. Smith is fresh off of winning the Southern Pro Series championship and hoping the momentum carries through Cordele.

“[It would] mean a lot for us as a team to win such a crown jewel as the World Crown 300,” Smith said. “I think with Alex Query and Greg Jane turning wrenches and getting the car as best as it can be I have a pretty good shot at it.”

He is also a fan of the Superfest payout bonus for drivers that raced in the other Superfest races this year.

“I think the program that super fest has come up with it’s giving back to us racers,” Smith said.

Smith is hoping his recent momentum carries through Cordele and can give them a good run and good payout.

“Definitely have a bunch of built up momentum coming into the World Crown,” Smith said. “We’ve worked hard this year to get our program better to be a contender in these big races. I’m super stoked to add this race to the list. Hopefully we can be there at the end of 300 [laps] and compete for the win.”

Racing begins at 6 p.m. ET on Saturday, October 25. Pro Trucks will have a 25-lap feature race ahead of the Cohen Law Group World Crown 300 presented by Noland’s Roofing. Fans can purchase tickets at cordelemotorspeedway.com or catch the action live on RacingAmerica.
