When Super Fest at Cordele Motor Speedway resumes on September 5-6, it will come with Southern Super Series (non-points) sanctioning and the chance at an increased payout in the World Crown 300 at the track in October.
The September event will feature two races across two nights with a $7,500.00-to-win and $750.00-to-start 75-lapper on Friday and a $10,000.00-to-win and $850.00-to-start 125-lapper on Saturday night. These races will not count towards the Southern Super Series championship but will utilize ASA rules and procedures.
Additionally, the race will count towards the Superfest bonus program, a continuation of the package that began in February, when Bubba Pollard won the inaugural race. The second of the four-race program was postponed to September, thus running two races in two days.
Superfest pays an additional $500 to a driver’s overall earnings in the World Crown 300 on October 25. The stakes are best articulated in the form of a memo sent out to teams last week from Southern Super Series officials.
“With the bonus money for starting the two September races your start money for the main event at the World Crown 300 would increase to $4000.00 with even more bonus money if you finish in the top-3 at the World Crown. The winner will receive $42,500 if they have run both of the September races.
“For those that competed in the first Super Fest event in February, if you compete in the two September events, you will be eligible for the full Super Fest bonus making it $5,000.00 to start and $50,000.00 to win the World Crown 300.”
The World Crown 300 features a $127,500 purse that pays, not factoring bonuses, $35,000-to-win. The structure is as follows:
- 1st $35,000
- 2nd $12,500
- 3rd $6,000
- 4th $5,000
- 5th $4,500
- 6th $4,000
