One week after having a win in the Dixieland 250 taken away from him in post-race technical inspection, Kyle Busch is returning to a Super Late Model on Wednesday night in the hopes of erasing a three year drought.

Kalamazoo is actually the site of Busch’s last win in a straight-rail Super Late, having won the CRA Super Series portion of the event back in 2014.

The 2015 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion will actually compete in both the CRA 125-lapper and the Kalamazoo Klash Outlaw Late Model race itself.

“I really enjoyed my experience at Kalamazoo Speedway a couple of years ago,” Busch said. “The race track was a lot of fun and the fans were great, so I’m excited to be going back. We were able to win the Super Late Model portion last time, but unfortunately our race ended early in the Klash due to an engine failure.

“Hopefully this time around we can pull of the double and win both events.”

Busch will pilot his iconic No. 51 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota in the Super portion and an Outlaw housed by the Senneker Performance Group. That’s Senneker as in five-time Klash winning driver Terry Senneker Jr.

The Kalamazoo 125 is the ninth race of the CRA season and the penultimate race of its regular season. The 10-race regular season will end on Tuesday at Flat Rock in Michigan.

Meanwhile, the Klash itself is one of the premiere events for Outlaw Late Model competition. The CRA portion pays $5,000 to win and the Outlaw winner gets $10,000.

This event will have a live Speed51 Pay-Per-View broadcast available for $19.99. Qualifying for the event starts at 3:50 p.m. ET. The racing begins at 7 p.m.
