In a field filled with heavy hitters, CARS Tour regular Cole Rouse scored the pole in the $10,000 Super Late Model portion of the Mid-Atlantic Classic at Orange County Speedway.

Rouse outqualified his main championship challenger, Brandon Setzer, as well as Super Late veteran Steven Wallace. As a result, he feels confident heading into the big money main event.

“We have a really good shot,” Rouse said. “We won last time here. I think we have a better car than we did last time. I got the pole, now I just need to finish it off. 150 laps, long race, stages in the race. We’re going to be in the race to finish with 15 laps to go for sure.”

The 150-lap race is split into four segments (lap 35, 100, 135, 150). Winners of each stage earns $500 bonus and guaranteed top eight start in final stage on the condition that they are in the lead lap. A five-mints break separates each stage.

Prior to the end of each stage, crew chiefs will submit a slip as to whether they will change none, one, two, three, or four tires. All teams have four tires at their disposal for the race. This will set restart orders
