
Following a dramatic and storyline filled debut event for ASA STARS on March 12, the national Super Late Model Tour will return for its follow-up event on May 6-7 at Madison International Speedway for the Joe Shear Classic.
It’s also the second race in the ASA Midwest Tour schedule following the Miracle on the High Banks last weekend at Slinger Speedway.
Both series and tracks put out a preliminary entry list on Friday and it contains 36 of the top Super Late Model drivers and teams in the country. It includes Sunshine State 200 winner Casey Roderick, his top rival this spring in Bubba Pollard, five-time Midwest Tour champion and Truck Series contender Ty Majeski, southern ace Stephen Nasse and Oxford 250 winner Cole Butcher.
The race will pay $15,000 to the winner and $1,500 to start. The race will start 26 cars on the Wisconsin half-mile, the field determined by two provisional and a last chance race, paying points to both the national tour and Midwest Tour.
ENTRY BLANK + FORMAT
Qualifying Format: Single Car Qualifying 2 laps with top 8 redraw Field: 1-20 from qualifying, 21-24 from last chance race,. Positions 25- 26 will be the two drivers highest in STARS owner points who have not yet qualified for the feature. Positions 27-28 will be the two cars highest in host regional series owner points. Remaining positions will come from qualifying. If no last chance, then positions 1-28 will come from qualifying. In the event additional cars are added they may be added at a reduced purse.

Testing: No Private Testing Available. Open Practices April 29th 1pm-4pm & May 6th 1pm-5pm.

Fuel: Sunoco 110 (20 gal. Min Purchase)
Tires: Hoosier 3035 Left/3045 Right (Impounded 8 Tire Max For Race) Teams will be allowed to purchase one set of practice tires. Teams can pre order tires from Dave Grueneburg 608-513-2278. You may mock/scuff second set of race tires on Sunday. Any and all new tires must be purchased from vendor at track. No outside new tires allowed.
Event will have stage breaks at Lap 75 & Lap 150 This event will use controlled caution pit stops
Midwest Tour Rule Exception: Cars have option of running exact Midwest Tour rules including engine & Carb at 2765lbs. All others will run at 2800lbs.
This event will pay both ASA National and ASAMWT Series Points. An ASA license is required for all drivers. To receive points and bonuses car owner or driver must have an ASA Owners License
