Mini Tyrrell made a statement on Friday evening ahead of Saturday night’s Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour 125 at Bobby Watson’s Carteret County Speedway.

The 16-year-old from Manassas, Virginia was fastest in practice on Friday with a best recorded lap time of 16.284 at a track he considers a home away from home.  Layne Riggs, who enters Saturday’s race as one of the favorites to win, was also quick with a 16.447-second lap.

Brandon Clements, Sammy Smith, Bobby McCarty, Corey Heim, Brandon Pierce, and Chad McCumbee all found themselves near the top of the speed charts in both Friday evening practices.  Points leader Jared Fryar was eighth quickest in Friday’s final practice session.

23 cars are set to battle in Saturday night’s Solid Rock Carriers 125, which includes the late entry of Travis Truett.
