Doug Barnes suspended, Mini Tyrell penalized after CARS Tour Wake

CARS Tour has penalized both Doug Barnes Jr. and Mini Tyrrell for the incident that transpired between them on Saturday night at the Delta Heating and Cooling 175 at Wake County Speedway.

Barnes has been suspended for a one race, meaning he’s not eligible to compete next weekend at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, and has also been placed on probation for the rest of the season. The cited reasons are ‘flagrant rough driving,’ ‘retaliation’ and ‘intentional contact with another competitor.’

Tyrrell has been placed on probation for the rest of the season for rough driving.

Barnes had intended to chase the championship this season and the suspension all but ends that possibility while Tyrrell is full-time in the NASCAR Truck Series this season for Kaulig RAM Racing.
