After over two years of Pro and Super Late Model competition together, Trevor Cristiani Racing announced on May 6 that they and West Coast driver Kasey Kleyn would be parting ways, effective immediately. The team made the announcement via their social media pages.
“We would like to announce to all our sponsors, fans, supporters, that Trevor Cristiani Racing and Kasey Kleyn are parting ways,” the team said via Facebook. “The past few years have been filled with great memories, competitive drive, and opportunities most only could dream of. With that said, we are excited to see Kasey’s next step in his racing career, and we wish him and his family nothing but the best.”
Kleyn and the team had previously intended to compete full-time with the ASA STARS National Tour in 2026, with Kleyn currently sitting 19th in overall standings and fourth in the rookie of the year standings after two races. On the Pro Late Model side, Kleyn and TCR sit seventh in the CARS Tour Northwest Pro Late Model standings after two races. Kleyn replied to the TCR social media post with a message of his own, wishing the team nothing but the best and teasing an announcement on his upcoming plans.
“I am incredibly thankful to Trevor Cristiani Racing for the opportunities, memories, friendships, and belief they had in me over the past few years,” Kleyn said. “Together, we shared many special moments and accomplishments that I will always be proud of. The knowledge, growth, and experiences gained during this chapter have played a huge role in my development both on and off the track, and I will carry that with me into this next journey.
“I wish Trevor, his family and everyone involved with TCR nothing but continued success moving forward.
As we move ahead, my focus remains on my continued development and pushing toward the goals I’ve set for my racing career. I’m excited about what’s ahead and look forward to sharing that journey with all of you very soon. Stay tuned… an announcement regarding my next chapter in racing will be coming soon.”
The partnership between Kleyn and TCR is highlighted by a five-win, championship winning season in the Northwest Super Late Model Series back in 2024, that included a win in the Fall Classic 200 at Tri-City Raceway. Kleyn made his first Snowball Derby start with the team last December, picking up a strong fourth place finish in the Super Late Model crown jewel event.
