Matt Craig (SLM) and Layne Riggs (LMSC) score Throwback 276 poles

The CARS Tour Throwback 276 event at Hickory Motor Speedway delivered a full field of cars for both the Super Late Model and Late Model Stock divisions, with many drivers wearing paint schemes that paid respect to the legends of stock car racing.

Here’s a qualifying recap for both divisions.

Matt Craig scores Super Late Model pole

Matt Craig posted the fastest time in Throwback 276 Super Late Model qualifying with a fast lap of 14.788 seconds around the legendary 0.363 mile speedway commonly referred to as the ‘Birthplace of the NASCAR stars.’

Brandon Setzer is 13 points behind Cole Rouse in the CARS Super Late Model championship battle. He qualified second with Rouse posting a fourth place with his Kyle Busch Motorsports No. 51 Toyota.

Tate Fogleman in third and Bubba Pollard in fifth completed the top-5.

Layne Riggs scores Late Model Stock pole

Looking to build on his five point championship advantage over JR Motorsport teammates Josh Berry and Anthony Alfredo, Layne Riggs posted the fastest lap in qualifying for the Super Late Model portion of the Throwback 276.

Riggs posted a 15.110 just ahead of Ryan Repko and Ty Gibbs. Berry and Alfredo could only qualify sixth and 11th respectively.
