Matt WeaverMatt Weaver is the founder, owner and editor of Short Track Scene. He grew up in the sport, trying his hand at driving prior to becoming a journalist in college at the University of South Alabama. Weaver is a prolific voice in national motorsports coverage, with stints at Autoweek Magazine and Racing America to his credit. Through Short Track Scene, Weaver lends that voice to every level of short track competition.

Andy Marquis

Southeast Correspondent & Photographer

Andy Marquis brings a diverse journalism background to Short Track Scene. Marquis has covered politics in his native Maryland and Washington, D.C., has reported on major motorsports from NASCAR to drag racing, and served as managing editor for regional racing outlet Race22.com. Now living in North Carolina, Marquis covers Late Model Stock Cars and Super Late Models in the Carolinas and Virginia.

Daniel Vining

Senior Photographer

Daniel Vining is Shor Track Scene’s senior photographer, covering races all across the country.  Vining teamed up with Short Track Scene in 2023. In addition to Short Track Scene, Vining’s work has been published in various editorial publications including Racing America, Late Model Digest, and Speed Sport. His mission is to inform, entertain and inspire motorsports lifestyle enthusiasts using imagery and storytelling to capture news and history. Vining is a member of the Eastern Motorsports Press Association.

Paul Lambert

Northeast/Modified Correspondent

Paul Lambert joined Short Track Scene in 2017. A 2022 graduate of Franklin Pierce University, Lambert’s written work has been published in Speedway Illustrated, the Boston Herald, and Autoweek. He is both a writer and a broadcaster, providing play-by-play talent for regional and collegiate sports around central Massachusetts. Lambert’s Short Track Scene focus is on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.

Jeff Brown

New England Correspondent & Photographer

Jeff Brown teamed up with Short Track Scene in 2017 to offer a fan’s perspective of racing in northern New England. Aa a New Hampshire native, Brown covers the region’s touring Late Model series and various races throughout the region.  Brown also provides a deeper look into New England’s diverse short track racing ecosystem.

Chris OwensA native of South Carolina, Chris Owens now calls North Carolina home. A professional photographer by day, Owens got his start in short track racing before a NASCAR career was born. He’s been featured in numerous magazines as well as the cover of Late Model Digest.
