The ASA Southern Super Series will crown its 2026 champion Saturday, Oct. 24, when the tour brings down the curtain on its season in the World Crown 300 at Cordele Motor Speedway. The 300-lap Super Late Model crown-jewel marks its third consecutive year in Cordele after being revived in 2024. For the first time, however, the Crisp County oval will serve as the host site for the series’ championship-deciding round.
Dawsonville, Georgia native Spencer Davis leads the Southern Super Series points chase entering the finale. Davis holds a 35-point cushion over Matt Craig. Davis has built his championship lead on consistent execution throughout 2026, posting top-10 finishes in every series start and completing every lap contested this season. In the series’ last visit to Cordele, Davis posted a runner-up finish.
Fellow Georgia driver Bubba Pollard sits third in the standings 41 markers behind Davis, while George Phillips and Stephen Nasse round out the top five heading into Saturday’s 300-lap feature.
The financial stakes are high for this race as drivers who competed in Cordele Motor Speedway’s SuperFest events earlier this season stand to earn lucrative loyalty bonuses. The track’s SuperFest incentive structure increases the race’s base start money from $3,000 to $5,000 for fully eligible teams, while boosting the winner’s paycheck from a $35,000 base up to $50,000.
First contested in 1983 and won by legendary short-track racer Dick Trickle, the World Crown 300 originated at Georgia’s former Gresham Motorsports Park (Peach State Speedway) in Jefferson. Over three decades, the event established itself as one of short-track racing’s most coveted titles, featuring winners such as Darrell Waltrip, Rich Bickle, Gary Balough, Bobby Gill, and four-time winner Paul Kelley.
Following a ten-year hiatus after Gresham’s closure in 2014, the historic event was revived in 2024 at Cordele Motor Speedway under new track ownership. Saturday marks the third running of the race at the 3/8-mile D-shaped asphalt oval.
Three former World Crown 300 winners are featured on this year’s 22-car entry list:
- Casey Roderick: Won the final running at Gresham Motorsports Park in 2014.
- Michael Hinde: Won the inaugural revived running at Cordele in 2024.
- Jake Garcia: Captured the victory at Cordele in 2025.
In addition to title contenders Davis, Craig, and Pollard, the 22-car entry list features several drivers looking to close out the 2026 Southern Super Series season on a winning note.
- Keelan Harvick: Son of NASCAR Hall of Famer Kevin, the rising short-track competitor from Mooresville, North Carolina has quickly made a notable mark in the Super Late Model ranks
- Jake Finch: Lynn Haven, Florida contender coming off Pro Late Model championships and is looking for his first career Super Late Model victory.
- Jett Noland: Groveland, Florida racer returning to Super Late Model competition behind the wheel of the Wilson Motorsports machine.
- Kasey Kleyn: Quincy, Washington driver making the cross-country trip as he continues to build consistency with the newly formed C3 Race Division team from Florida.
